History's Heroes
Have you ever collected baseball cards? Or maybe you've seen NASCAR cards or football cards? What if we had collectible cards for our heroes of American and Tennessee history? Well, that is exactly what we are going to create today.
Choose one of the people from the list below and follow the steps listed. When you are finished bring your final project to the teacher.
1.Open MS Word. Use Page Setup and set the paper size to 6" wide and 4" high. Set all four margins to .25". Using the column button on the top, make two columns. The first column will be the front of your card. The second column will be the back. You can now minimize MS Word and go back to it when you are ready to insert your material. When you are ready to save your work go to "File", "Save As" and save it to the desktop with your name on it.
2. Your History Heroes card needs to have the following:
| Front of Card | Back of Card |
| Picture Name of Person |
Name of Person Dates of birth and death Historical Significance Additional fact |
3. Click on the name of the person you chose from the list above. You will find a list of websites where you will find the information you need to complete your History Hero card. To insert your picture, right click, choose "copy", and then "paste" onto your word document. You will type the rest of the information onto your card.
4. Check to see that you have done everything that you were required to do:
