     Third Grade Library Lesson Plans

*** FELLOW LIBRARIANS: OVER THE YEARS I HAVE HAD MANY LIBRARIANS FROM AROUND THE COUNTRY CONTACT ME ABOUT MY LIBRARY CURRICULUM. I AM HAPPY TO SHARE ANYTHING THAT I HAVE. IF YOU USE THIS SITE YOU WILL WANT TO COPY/PRINT WHAT YOU NEED. I AM CHANGING MY CURRICULUM TO ONE THAT IS PROJECT-BASED AND THESE PAGES WILL BE GONE IN A FEW WEEKS.

Third graders meet once every six days for 40 minutes.  Students focus on the difference between fiction and nonfiction.  They learn the many parts of a book including the title page and table of contents.  During the second semester students study a folk and fairy tale unit.
